There was a time when a Netflix subscription gave fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe access to stream some of the best superhero movies that the enduring franchise has to offer. Now, every single installment of that particular shared universe of Marvel movies in order is only available to stream with a Disney+ subscription. However, that does not mean you cannot get your Marvel fix on Netflix.
Among the best movies on Netflix is a decent handful of Marvel movies that exist outside of the MCU – even though some of these characters, despite residing in different corners of the Marvel multiverse, have crossed paths with each other. To follow them on their own solo adventures, stream these Marvel movies on Netflix at the moment (or very soon), which we have compiled for you, below.
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy (2002-2007)
Before he became the patron saint of indie horror filmmaking with his enduringly popular Evil Dead movies, Sam Raimi grew up reading comics the saw young Peter Parker using his arachnid-like abilities to fight evil individuals and prevent deadly consequences. Years later, the filmmaker was given to opportunity to bring one of his childhood heroes to life on the big screen.
Tobey Maguire stars in the title role of 2002’s Spider-Man, the more widely-acclaimed sequel from 2004, and 2007’s more controversial third installment, which sees him taking on the likes of Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, and the challenges that come with being a superhero and sharing a romance with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). Each chapter of the trilogy also includes a cameo by Bruce Campbell, which just adds to why these action-packed hits are some of Sam Raimi’s best movies so far.

The Amazing Spider-Man Movies (2012-2014)
Following Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movie trilogy led by Tobey Maguire and before Tom Holland succeeded the role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, another webbed-up corner of the Marvel multiverse was introduced in 2012. This time, Academy Award nominee Andrew Garfield donned the old red and blues to play a version of Peter Parker who was a bit younger and quite a bit snarkier than Maguire’s iteration.
In director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, we see a recently bitten Peter struggling with the death of Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen), juggling his new vigilante gig with his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and contending with Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), who has turned himself into a reptilian beast. The 2014 sequel doubles the darkness and triples the Spider-Man villains, which include Electro (Jamie Foxx), Rhino (Paul Giamatti), and Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), who slowly becomes the Green Goblin.

Madame Web (2024)
One of Spider-Man’s most trusted and unique allies is not another webslinger, but her mind is certainly a tangled one. Her name is Cassandra Webb – otherwise known as Madame Web – who led her own big screen adventure in 2024.
Dakota Johnson stars in the title role – an EMT who, after a near-death experience, unlocks clairvoyant abilities that she uses to protect a trio of young women whose destinies make them a target of a mysterious man (played by Tahar Rahim). Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor also star in Madame Web as Cassandra’s companions in this chapter of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (2023)
To some fans, the greatest Spider-Man movie yet is 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Thus, one of the most highly anticipated 2023 movies was its long awaited sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
The follow-up is a more explorative multiverse movie than its predecessor, in which Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) – struggling to balance crime fighting with his personal life – discovers that other webslingers like him have formed a cross-dimensional alliance, and he wants in. As those who have seen our upcoming Spider-Man movies guide should know, this is just the second chapter of a trilogy, so be sure to get yourself caught up with this acclaimed hit that dropped on Netflix on Halloween 2023.
